There are various types of real Christmas trees, all of which are a cheap choice over artificial. The most common types of Christmas trees are the six-foot Scotch pines, which fit nicely into the common home living room.

The deodora cedar, wihich has blue-green short needles with pendulous needle tips, is one type of Christmas trees. The Eastern red is another cedar, it has shiny dark green leaves and gives off a wonderful smell, though it's sticky to the touch and will only last 2-3 weeks. As this tree dries quickly it is best used in a humid climate.

In the southeast part of the U.S. the Leland Cypress, with dark green or gray foliage, is one of the most favorite Christmas trees. Its odor is good but light and its branches are feathery. This tree is ideal in the home of allergen-troubled folks.

A common type of Christmas tree is the Douglas fir. It has a great fragrance and lives longer than a lot of other trees. To boot it is easily flocked. Its leaves are either blue or dark green. The Fraser, its sister fir, has needles that are dark green and flatter. It holds its needles well and gives off a pleasant scent. For a more citrus aroma you should choose the grand fir with dark green shiny needles. The noble fir is a fantastic choice, if you want a more durable tree that can hold your heavy Christmas ornaments. It lives longer and healthier as a Christmas tree and makes fascinating, strong and durable garland as well.

Pine and spruce are two different normally used types of Christmas trees. The pine has a special fragrance. The spruce still, dries out quickly and its needles fall quickly.

Make sure you know everything around caring of Christmas trees, once you selected your type.
